Faith in Action
"Why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I tell you?"
Luke 6:46
From the beginning, Crosswinds has always been a church that took mission work seriously.
Without action, faith is just a word, so we are committed to living out our faith by following the teachings of Jesus. Not merely by donating money to worthy causes, though we do that too, but by hands-on mission opportunities.
Besides our on-going food drive, we also collect water for the homeless, distribute hygiene packets to local shelters and donate school supplies to a neighboring school. Even the coffee we drink is from a cooperative in Chiapas, Mexico, whose mission is to provide economic incentives for families to remain on their land.
For 2010, we have challenged our members to increase their mission work, to the point that we have 100% involvement. From our older members to our youth, we seek to make Crosswinds a church that really lives its faith and in the process, changes lives.
We-Care-Packets
Assembly Day
In 2010, our goal is to put together 1,000 packets!
Current Projects
Food Drive
During the months of June & July, Crosswinds & Sunrise Methodist challenged each other to a food fight, to see who could raise the most food & water for local food banks. The results are in!
Sunrise Methodist: 1868 pounds
Crosswinds: 2322 pounds!
Thanks to everyone who donated so much to make this a great success. Between the two churches, we raised over 2 tons of food & water for the community. All of the food Crosswinds collected has been delivered to Operation Care Food Bank at 19th Avenue and Grovers. They thank you as well!
Sock-it-to-Me!
Lend-a-Hand is collecting new packages of men's crew socks for their We-Care Packets. These packets also include (among other things) shampoo, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, and they are distributed to various shelters in the Valley.
